Alvin & Anna

Dec 30, 2009
Shrine of St. Therese
Blue Leaf

This wedding is a very special wedding for us. It was our last wedding for 2009 and for the 1st time our children were invited to the weddings as guests. We discovered after Alvin & Anna booked us that Martha, the bestfriend of my daughter Bianca, was Alvin’s niece. What a small world. …They have been classmates in Assumption since Kinder 1. They are now in Grade 2. Robin, the brother of Alvin and father of Martha, is an Augustinian like Paul. I don’t know why we didn’t connect it earlier but it was when Caron was editing the onsite that she realized that Alvin use to be her classmate in Grade 6 in CSA. Caron’s last year in CSA before moving to San Francisco. Alvin used the name Robert LLamas kac. So she never really connected them together. It was a very funny reunion of sorts. Oh, and the photographer Lee Llamas is Alvin’s relative. :)

Jesse & Ice

Dec 26, 2009
Wack Wack Chapel
Wack Wack Golf and Country Club

Jesse and Ice make a beautiful couple. Ice looks like Aubrey Miles and Jesse like Danilo Barrios. HAHAHAHA! Jesse and Ice were one of the few couples that booked us without meeting us personally. Then we saw them once in a bridal fair. So when the big day came, i was wondering how it will be since we didn’t know much about the couple since we are used to knowing our couples very well before the wedding day. Surprisingly they were very easy to get along with. Ice is a very happy and kalog bride and so is Jesse. We also got to know the family of Jesse who are based in Dubai. Jesse grew up in Dubai then went to college in Manila and has been residing in Manila ever since. Ice works for Thompson Reuters and Jesse for Globe Telecoms. Even Tita Mhai the mom of Jesse is my Facebook friend now.

Tita, let me know when there is the big sale in Dubai so we can go there and go shopping….

As promised, here is the Onsite MTV of Aubrey and Danilo, (Jesse & Ice) for everyone here and in Dubai to see. HAHAHAHA!

Glenn & Lizette

Dec 22, 2009
Caleruega
Splendido

Glenn & Lizette’s wedding was at 9am in Tagaytay. Normally it would be an easy day for us but the night before we finished our wedding at 12 midnight. We had to prepare all our stuff for the next wedding, got an hour of sleep then we were up again by 3am and off to Tagaytay for our 5am call time. It was a rainy and foggy morning with almost zero visibility going to Canyon Woods. Chinkie Uy Agregado the coordinator met us when we arrived having hardly slept also. Sleep seems to be out of the equation when its December. Peak season!!!
So the day went smoothly. We were right on schedule with Caron editing the onsite video. Actually, it was the first time ever for us to actually finish the Onsite edit even before the couple arrived at the reception venue. Wow!!! Not really fast editing. It was more of the photographer taking a bit too long with the post-nup pictorial with the couple. hehehe! Since we had so much time to kill before the showing of the Onsite MTV Caron decided to burn the Onsite to DVD but we also to dumped the footage to tape just for back up. I tested the DVD & it was playing and we waited for our turn in the program.
Glenn & Lizzette’s wedding is a Filipino inspired wedding. Everything was in Tagalog. The misalette, menu, give-aways, etc. Showtime came and the video appeared on the screen. And somehow the priest was speaking in English…parang something wasn’t right…and then I saw Fernbrook!!! OMG!!!! It was the wrong video that we burned to the DVD. It was the wedding 2 nights before. It’s a good thing we had a back up so i ran and changed the video and everyone loved the Onsite MTV of Glenn and Lizette.
Sorry guys. it was the 4th wedding in a row. It was time get some sleep in our 3 hour ride back to Manila. Hahahaha!

Marvin & Gec

Dec 21, 2009
Iglesia ni Christo
Manila Polo Club

When Caron asked the question how they met each other to Marvin during the AVP shoot, she never expected what was going to happen next. I have never seen a guys as emotional as Marvin. He told us listening to Gary Valenciano brings him to tears. I didn’t believe it at first, because Marvin is a funny & tall metrosexual. Gec, on the other hand was the pretty but serious type. They both had lots of ideas for their AVP love story video but Marvin also warned us that he might not be able to do the shoot because he would be crying the whole time. So the day of the AVP shoot came, everyone was in high spirits until the interview portion came. It started with Marvin’s bestman as he was giving his message to the couple, he could not help but cry. Then it was Marvin’s turn. I think from the beginning to the end of the interview he was crying. It was very infectious. I think Caron was also crying while conducting the interview. Gec who was somewhere else while we interviewed Marvin said when it was her turn…”what did he say? He cried again noh?” Hahaha! It was definitely an interesting day for us!
After they watched the AVP, Marvin told us that we did a good job in editing the video because he didn’t look like a big mess. Gec on the other hand was calm and collect the whole time. On the wedding day, Marvin was emotional again as he saw his bride walking down the isle and when he gave his thank you speech. I was hoping to get a better shot of Marvin in the church but it was a little bit strict and tight in Iglesia to get good position.
Gec works for Del Monte and Marvin for PAL. Gec is also a chef and Marvin is studying to be a pilot. In their reception they surprised everybody with their first dance. They danced to the theme song of Dirty Dancing. “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” that was recorded by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes. It was so unexpected to see Gec dancing like that. It was the perfect song for Marvin & Gec. Never mind that bride hurt her knee at the end of the song. Their wedding was still one of the best we’ve ever attended.

Laurence & Icel

Dec 20, 2009
Fernbrook, Alabang

Laurence & Icel booked us 2 and a half years ago at a Bridal Fair back in 2007. The wedding was supposed to be in Dec 2008 but it was rescheduled 1 year later to Dec 2009. After meeting Laurence and Icel again, Icel was still the same cheerful and bubbly girl and Laurence was the serious type. We really got to know them after we did their AVP shoot. Friends and family gathered together to tell their story. Icel is a nurse but decided to pursue another career and Laurence works for Amkor Phil. Icel is also a little bit mataray and Laurence is the quiet type who always lets Icel win. (Is that correct Renz)? HAHAHA! Renz also likes to dress up well and Icel is the simple type of girl who cares less about looks but they are a couple who have withstood the test of time no matter how opposite they are because they love each other very much.

So when Renz asked me for a suggestion for their Onsite song, I immediately suggested Love Story by Taylor Swift. Aside from it being the favorite song of my kids, it’s also appropriate for the love story of Laurence & Icel.

Watch their Onsite Video… AVP video will be uploaded soon.

Cris & Mia

Dec 19, 2009
Santuario de San Antonio
Manila Peninsula

We met Cris and Mia about a year and a half ago, that was when they booked us. Then they both went to China to study or something like that. When they got back from China that was when they really started to plan the wedding. Mia declares that she is an O.C. bride. She wants everything to be perfect to the last detail. She is always on top of things. So when we entered the room the morning of her wedding, it surprised me that Mia was very calm and cheerful. Unlike many O.C. brides who are a wreck on their wedding day. She was not! She said her secret was that she finished organizing everything, every single detail of the wedding a day before the wedding. So that she would be relaxed and beautiful on her most important day.

Mia picked the perfect song for the perfect wedding. Very dramatic. Enjoy their Onsite Video.

Andre & Becca

Dec 13, 2009
Chapel on the Hill
Antonio’s

Andre and Becca is a couple very much in love! You could see it in Andre when he said that he would literally need a towel to wipe away his tears when he saw Becca in the church. I have never seen a groom cry as much as Andre. Until the reception he was still crying.

Andre is the nephew of Edu Manzano and Becca is the daughter of talent manager June Rufino. Showbiz runs in their blood. The reception was even hosted by Andre’s cousin Luis Manzano but the whole event was nothing like showbiz. It was an intimate gathering of close friends and relatives. Even the coordination was done by Becca’s sister Rache and a job well done.

I would also like to acknowledge Trisha Chua-Juico (creative director of Metro Weddings and former client) for referring us to Becca. Thanks Trish! It was nice seeing you and Joe at the wedding and it was our pleasure to be part of this Wedding.

Congrats Dre and Becca!

Richard & Marijhune

Dec 6, 2009
Shrine of St. Therese
St. Paul Auditorium, Pasig

“It is difficult, Richard & Jhune, to commit sin when you pray. And that is why Jesus in Mathew chapter 26 verse 41 counsels us. Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation”. Very powerful words from the priest of Richard & Marijhune. Something everybody should practice to maintain a happy marriage.

Marijhune was a a shy bride. We didn’t think we could make her laugh but we eventually made her laugh with the help of her Celebrity Make-up artist Krist Bansuelo and his hairdresser. They were both very funny that Marijhune began to laugh and she became even more beautiful with a smile on her face.
Richard, the groom, was very dashing in his black suit. Richard is from Palawan. He met Marijhune in her families restaurant. They also had their first date in that same restaurant owned by her family. Very interesting story about the couple. :)

Congratulations Richard & Marijhune!

Jay-Ar & Ada

Nov 27, 2009
Holy Trinity
Edsa Shangrila

What do they say about men in uniform? We met the groom, Jay-Ar De Guzman, in jeans and a t-shirt. Captain Jay-Ar De Guzman, is a helicopter pilot in the Philippine Air Force but I didn’t really think anything of it until we shot their AVP in Villamor Air Base. I saw him change from jeans, to a flight suit, to blue uniform to his white Gala uniform. It really makes a difference when you see somebody dress in their Gala outfit. So much so that it brought tears to Jay-Ar’s Dad when he started dressing up for the wedding. He looked so young and funny, when we met him, that I didn’t realize just how responsible and hardworking he was. (And that also goes for all the people in the in the Air Force.) And I’m just writing about the groom. Ada, the bride, is a Lawyer for the Ombudsman. She is small and petite. You wouldn’t even think she could hurt a fly.

This wedding was supposed to be held in Baguio city, Ada’s hometown & Jay-Ar home for a few years while studing in the Philippine Military Academy(PMA). Due to Super Typhoon Pepeng, they had to move the wedding to Manila. With the help of cousin George, they had to plan the wedding from scratch. That was when our photographer friend Alfred Mendoza who is also the best friend of Jay-ar contacted us a month before the wedding. They also wanted an AVP so we had to come up with a concept in a limited period of time. The good thing was that they already had one. They wanted their love story AVP to be based on the Telenovela “Tayong Dalawa”. Which was about a soldier also named J.R. and his love interest. We shot the AVP in Villamore Air Base complete with Flying helicopters and antique airplanes. It was a very nice location to do the shoot. I would highly recommend it for pre nups, that’s if you can get in. HAHAHA!
