Mike & Sammie

December 27, 2008
St. Joseph’s Parish, Mandaue City, Cebu
Casino de Espanol

There is one word to describe this wedding. BONGGA! Bongga the guests, Bongga the food, Bongga the booze, Bongga the set up of the Church and reception venue, Bongga the flowers and most of all Bongga the veil. Thanks to Margette and Liz for taking good care of us and for making sure that the whole event was a success. They even assigned a personal driver and P.A. to us. We felt like VIP’s even for a day or 2. (Hahahaha).

Mike is half Canadian and half Filipino and Sammie is half Cebuano and half British. Talk about a mix of culture. He met Sammie in Cebu when they were both studying in I.S Cebu and the rest is history. Now they are both based in Canada. Their Canadian friends flew over to be a part of this grand event. Unfortunately, a few of them arrived last minute due to a snowstorm in Vancouver. Never the less, that didn’t stop the Bongga people of Cebu from partying until the wee hours of the morning.

The mass was one of the most solemn and most personal we have ever attended because it was officiated by Sammie’s Monsignor uncle who was assisted by her brother. Many words of wisdom were given to the couple on a personal level. The entrance of the bride was breathtaking. We put many hours planning the grand entrance, From the drapes that Margette was so O.C. about to synchronizing the music and the opening of the door. I would say that everything turned out well.

Congratulations Mike and Sammie! Cheers!

December 20, 2008
Fernbrook Gardens

It’s been a long time since we have had a morning wedding and a call time at 5am. When we got to Ruby’s room she was up and about already and on top of things. Just as i expected from this woman. Would you imagine she personally planned and organized her wedding all the way from Australia. Ruby is an accountant based in the land down under together with her husband Lito. The wedding was perfect. Job well done guys.

Jing & Natz

December 17,2008
Sacred Heart Parish

Jing is from Canada. He came to Manila to marry his lovely wife Natz. He brought along all his closest friends from Vancouver. They are a fun bunch. Very good dancers. Party people! I had a blast filming them for the onsite video. They were all game performing for the camera. Very cooperative. They will do whatever you tell them to do. Hoping to party with you guys sometime.

Natz on the the other hand was very pretty and slim on her wedding day. You would never think that this petite lady holds all the huge athletes of La Salle at her mercy. Natz is the physical therapist of all sports in De La Salle College. So everyone that gets injured come crying to her arms. Don’t under estimate her! this one is a tough one.

This is also the first time we got to use our newly purchased GLIDETRACK for the onsite video. We were able to shoot alot of smooth flowing shots. Check out the video!

Jesse & Honey

December 14, 2008
Splendido, Tagaytay

Honey is a writer. She writes Novels. So we asked her to write something for their Blog entry. (Para Ma-iba naman). So this is what she wrote:

Honey was wearing a red dress that accentuated her hourglass figure. She wanted to look perfect for Jesse, the guy she was going to have dinner with. Tonight was going to be their first official date. She looked at her reflection on the mirror and decided Jesse would have to be blind to not notice how devastatingly stunning she was.

She heard a knock on her door. She took a deep breath before opening the wooden entrance. Her heart pounded in her ears as her eyes met his. The faint scent of his aftershave filled up her senses, his mere presence made her knees feel weak. He smiled at her, that playful smile of his. He took her breath away…

That’s what I would’ve written if Jesse and I were characters in my book. Here’s the real deal—I would only have an hourglass figure if someone would add two hours of extra sand in it. And Jesse doesn’t wear perfume, unless he’s in the mood to listen to me whine the whole day as perfumes make my nose run, altering my disposition from “lighthearted” to “bitch from hell.”

I could not imagine a worse first date than ours. We were both stressed out from work, didn’t have enough sleep, tried to look our best but ended up looking our worst.

But even if Jesse looked just about ready to pass out from exhaustion, he still drove me home that night. From that memorable first date, we ended up exchanging vows last December 14… And we couldn’t have found a better videographer to capture every moment than 30fps.

Let me rave about our AVP… Everyone told us it was the best they had ever seen, not to mention the funniest. When we came up with the idea for the AVP, we had doubts if it was doable, so we met up with Paul and Caron to discuss it. We were very excited when they told us that yes, it can be done. And so it was decided that our AVP would be spoofs of the music video “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias, and the movie “The Matrix.”

The day of the shoot came and Paul, Caron, and their crew were very patient with us. They worked with a bunch of non-actors who wouldn’t stop laughing for hours and yet the AVP turned out great! And when we showed it during the wedding reception, every guest laughed. Even our wedding coordinator confessed that she and her team stopped what they were doing to watch. They told us even the waiters did the same thing!

Our onsite video was something else. It was very touching. I watch it every chance I get. I am so proud of it that I carry my laptop everywhere I go and show the video to friends. I never fail to remind them that a camera adds ten pounds on a person, and there were THREE cameras on me. All of them rolled their eyeballs at my camera theory but told me how beautiful the video was. Some asked if they could get a copy. A friend even told me she wants to get married again after seeing the video.

So without further ado, here are our AVP and onsite videos…

Sonny & Ira

December 13, 2008
St. James the Great, Alabang

Sonny and Ira, a very religious couple. They met at the Singles for Christ in St. James Parish. Both very competitive people. So many stories to tell about them i don’t know were to start so just watch their AVP love story.

Every detail of this wedding had to be planned way in advance because Ira got the news that she would be based in Singapore for her job at Uniliever. So the bulk of the planning was left to Sonny. Ira being more of the planner and creative type and Sonny the emotional type. HAHAHA! (No offense Sonny). Sonny did not disappoint. Everything turned out perfect. From the church to the most entertaining wedding reception we have ever attended. Messages from the mothers of the couple were given in form of songs. Surprise dance number by Sonny dancing to flow Rida’s LOW and a song number complete with crying effect to the tune of Bon Jovi’s song THANK YOU. I told you Sonny is the emotional type. (Just kidding Sonny). It was in fact a very romantic gesture. It was our honor to be a part of your most memorable day. Check out their onsite video.

VERNI & ARLEENE

December 12, 2008
San Sebastian

How lucky can we get, second wedding in row with police escort. This time from EDSA Shangrila to San Sebastian church. Can you imagine, this was a Friday afternoon in December and God knows how bad the traffic was. We had no idea how long it would take us to get to San Sebastian Church or if we would even get there on time for the ceremony. Thanks to Chinky Agregado and her HAGADS, we got there in 30 minutes.

Now going back to EDSA SHANG was a different story. Everyone in the church was lined up to follow the police escort. So we were positioned way at the back of a very long convoy. After awhile i couldn’t hear the sirens anymore. The convoy got cut, so all we did was follow the car in front of us because we were not familiar with the route that the convoy passed. Little did we know that we were heading towards Makati instead of the hotel. Nightmare! Everyone following us got lost and got stuck in traffic. Just one advice. If your not 5 cars away from the lead car just forget about it and go your own way. The only good thing that happened amidst the chaos was that we were able to finish digitizing all the footage we needed for onsite video in the car and we were able to show it just in time. Enjoy the video

Anyway, enough about us! It’s Verni and Arleene’s big day and boy it was big. From the beautiful flower arrangement, if i may add that’s Arleene’s family business. They have a flower shop in Dangwa. The glamorous set up of the reception venue, class A suppliers and of course the Manolo Blahniks.

Congratulations to Verni and Arleene!

Anton & Anna

December 8, 2008
St. James the Great
Sofitel

First time I’ve ever been part of a convoy with police escorts. From St. James Alabang to Sofitel. We passed Las Pinas which was super traffic. No worries! Let the escorts do their thing. Counterflow all the way. Makes the lives of us videographers much easier.

Anyway, Anton and Anna was the couple that i was talking about a few months ago who was very uneasy doing our AVP shoot. It turned out that they were pretty good actors after all. Check out their onsite MTV and see how natural they are in front of the cam. Hey Anton you might want to consider another career. Cheers!

Mike & Ciara

Dec 6, 2008
Fernbrook Gardens

My O.C. bride! HAHAHA! Just kidding Ciars! A very detailed person she is. From the shots that she specifically wanted and very willing to go out of her way just to create it, to the preparation of the entire wedding. That’s Ciara. On top of everything! Mike on the other hand is the cool and laid back type of guy but very much involved in the planning of the event also. A match made in heaven.

Ciara is the daughter of journalist Tony Lopez owner of Biz News Asia. Many VIP guests in attendance. Former president Joseph Estrada, Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, Ramon Ang, Dong Puno , Robina Gokongwei-Pe, Etc. Very classy, is the word to discribe this wedding. The highlight of the event was when Ciara’s dad made his final speech, giving away his daughter was hard for him since Ciara was the youngest and closest to him but never the less he would survive because he is known to be called the Lone Ranger! The speech went on and on. I thought it would never end but it gave us the much needed time to finish our onsite video. Thanks Mr. Lopez and congrats to you Mike and Ciara!

Paulo & Irish

November 29,2008
Fernbrook Gardens

Most of the time Paulo is out at sea because his job calls for it. He is in charge of the computer system of the ship or something to that effect. Please correct me if I’m wrong Pau. Being away most of the time did not stop this couple from planning their very beautiful Christian garden wedding. The weather was beautiful and Irish was very emotional when saying her vows. Congrats and great job guys!

Emman & Myls

November 19, 2008
Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish

An odd day to have a wedding in the month of November, Wednesday. Little did we know that November 19 is a very significant day for Emman and Myls coz this marks their 7th year anniversary. Both are very good singers, Emman being a Tenor and Myls a Soprano and are a part of the church choir. They had a duet during the wedding ceremony that gave goose bumps to all present.
